JDL
The Junior Development League is one key element of Football Federation Australia’s National Building Blocks for Player Development and it is strongly supported by Football NSW.
A key aspect of the FFA National Curriculum is the implementation of high-quality Junior Development League programs, to perfect and accelerate the skill development of players at the critical ages of 9 to 12 years. These are the age groups universally acknowledged to be the optimal mental and physical phase in which children are able to learn motor skills at an accelerated rate.
The JDL curriculum is designed and delivered by certified coaches, and it includes a range of activities and drills that aim to improve the players’ coordination, balance, agility, and control. The program also focuses on the players’ technical skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and tackling. Additionally, JDL also covers the tactical aspects of the game, including team play, decision-making, and strategy.
St George City also offers a range of other programs and services to support player development. This includes specialist coaching sessions for goalkeepers, strength and conditioning programs, and access to top-class facilities and equipment.
Pathways for our Juniors
The Junior Development League (JDL) is an intensive training and development program.
Beyond the JDL program, the St George City offers many opportunities in terms of player pathways for those players wishing to progress their playing careers and provides a pathway to National Premier League football. This incorporates St George City with squads currently competing in the Football NSW Youth League.
Though our trials have ended for the current season, we welcome inquiries from aspiring football players.
